Valentine’s Day

It gets gloomy this time of year in the Midwest. To add shine to their day, I like to leave notes and small treats for my family & friends. Check out some of our favorite ideas, classroom valentines, teacher gifts + other inspiration to help you spread the love this time of year!

We started a tradition a few years ago: each day leading up to February 14th, I stick a note with something I love about each of our kids on their bedroom door. One year, to my surprise, my daughters reciprocated the sentiment and filled our bedroom door with the sweetest notes!

My kids also love our Valentines Mailboxes. This is a tradition we started awhile back where I give them little notes or a treat each day from February 1-14 in their mailboxes. My advice is to prep a few in advance (or all of them) because, like the Elf on the Shelf, it’s really easy to forget the night before!

I found these mailboxes at Target then added their names on the other side. You can find similar ones from Amazon here!

The kids also love treating their Dad to some Valentines too! Orange + Blue Moon Beer + a cute and clever gift tag is a crowd pleaser!

When the kids were in preschool, we’d have a Valentine’s Day brunch during the week. Now, we save this for the weekend before Valentines Day and have a menu filled with heart-shaped or red/pink foods!

My daughter loved her Tic-Tac-Toe Valentine idea because her friends could play a game and get chocolate! Use our Free Tic-Tac-Toe Printable + Hershey Kisses, which we put together in clear cellophane bags for easy delivery.
