Earth Day and May Day

The Spring weather is moving in, flowers are blooming all around and we’re loving the longer days!

Earth Day is on April 22nd, marking the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. We’ll be celebrating with fun activities all month long.

We love these Earth Day Crafts: Handprint Art and an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt then have the kids create mixed media art using the items they collected!

I love flowers, all shades, shapes, varieties. I set a fun floral table to celebrate Earth Day, even though it was grey and rainy outside. It was my way of bringing a little sunshine inside!

Also, May 1st is May Day, which celebrates the return of Spring. Some ways to celebrate include dropping off May Day baskets or flowers to friends and neighbors, recreating the May pole and decorating a May bush, like they do in parts of Ireland where they dress a bush or branch with flowers and ribbons.
